New products: Sedus screen system and pedestal range

In modern companies, fast, uncomplicated communication and flat hierarchies are more important than ever before. For this reason, companies are increasingly opting for an open-plan office layout. However, the greatest source of disturbance for members of staff is often a lack of privacy for confidential discussions, and the distraction of other people talking. When it comes to harmonising an open-plan office design with the need for privacy, free-standing and desk-mounted screens from Sedus are the perfect solution. As firm favourites, they have been an established part of our standard programme for many years now and underwent a complete renovation, both aesthetically and functionally, in preparation for the last Orgatec trade fair. The new aluminium section and latest fabrics create a fresh appearance, while specially designed practical trays offer new storage options for office paraphernalia. Along with the desk-mounted models, screens are now also available for mounting behind desks, making progressive height adjustment possible. The new monitor brackets with articulated arms guarantee full freedom of movement, both for the user and for the mounted device.

The Sedus pedestal range was similarly renovated and complemented with fresh new designs. Like a comprehensive modular system, the pedestals can be freely assembled according to requirements. Carcasses, fronts, top shelves, back panels and D-handles can be adapted to every office furnishing – and now all pedestals can also be combined with all the current Sedus desking systems. Along with laminate finishes and real wood veneers, two new plastic design fronts have been incorporated into the programme and these are available in a choice of six fresh colours. From a technical point of view, the Sedus pedestal range is one of the best on the market. Quality and durability were our main considerations during development. New telescopic pull-outs and accessory elements for drawers afford increased usability. In addition, the practical, height-adjustable glides can be adapted to match every desk height. Specifically designed for the Southern European market, a steel pedestal available in two different designs has also been incorporated into the Sedus programme.
