The jury for the German Design Award, the international premium prize of the German Design Council, considered 3,400 submissions from the areas of product and communications design before selecting the very best among them. Six products of the furniture manufacturer Sedus Stoll AG were awarded prizes. The "get together" modular bench system and the "on spot" lounge chair were announced as 'Winners'. The mobile individual workstation "secretair", the "turn around" swivel chair in two heights, the "allright" chair for universal use and the “Sedo-Lift" swivel chair mechanism were all given a 'Special Mention'.
The German Design Award of the German Design Council is awarded to outstanding products and projects from the area of product and communications design as well as to design personalities and new young designers who, in their different ways, are groundbreaking in the German and international design landscape.
