The modern world of work is shaped by a variety of different working styles, which partly require completely contradictory furnishing solutions. Fundamentally, a distinction is made between work done alone or together with others.
Today employees are increasingly deciding themselves where and how they best manage their work. Often they alternate between styles of work when doing so. Communicative work can follow on from concentrated isolated work, while team work can be replaced by withdrawal or relaxation. Modern office design must reconcile these different needs and create the corresponding possibilities to achieve them.
