Density is changing, but not uniformly in all office areas. Some are being drastically reduced while others have found a new role: The personal desk - once the only option - is now supplemented by different workplace configurations which support the need for collaboration and focus or just provide more choices in selecting the best place to work.

Solutions that follow the changes of the organizations and their workforce support the rising of those organizational models that - in order to promote collaboration and attract more young talents - need be more open, horizontal and sometimes informal, and offer new opportunities and choices to freelancers, especially those coming from the Y generation, who want open spaces emphasizing teamwork and knowledge sharing.
The final result is not simply a reduction in the quantity of office space, but a redefi- nition based on the quality, following a “workplace strategy” able to simultaneously address the social, physical, and technical components of the workplace as well as the economic needs of a company.
