Digitalisation is drastically changing our lives, our behaviour and the way we work. The development of new technologies and the ongoing reduction in their costs, provide fertile ground for the development of new ways of working, new models of workplace design and new types of office furniture.
Smart working is creating a number of new challenges and opportunities in the working environment. Each day millions of office workers have to face the challenges that arise with the greater adoption of smart working and non-territorial space. When they reach the office in the morning, the first challenge for them is to find a free space to work. Once they find a workstation, the next challenge is to locate colleagues and team members. All of this incurs a cost in terms of their time and effort, which in turn causes inefficiency and costs companies money. Facility managers often have to cope with a growing number of complaints from the employees for whom these are daily challenges. Most of the time, it is difficult to monitor occupancy and therefore optimise space and keep people happy at work.
Se:connects – is the solution for a new dimension in connectivity.
When employees come into the office, they can use a smartphone to open the se:connects app, allowing them to see immediately on a floorplan which workstations are occupied or free and find a space to work.
Once settled at a desk, they use integrated wireless charging for the smartphone and in doing so register their presence with the system.
Thanks to the se:connects app they can now easily locate their colleagues and connect with them.
Facility managers benefit from reporting, occupancy figures and other key data. This helps them to optimise space and improve effectiveness continuously, making both the company and the employees happy.
