In October, Sedus and its long-standing Egyptian partner T&D Design celebrated an important milestone: the launch of local assembly of the se:kit office chair in Egypt. The occasion was marked by a special event at the iconic Marriott Mena House in Cairo, bringing together leading business representatives, architects and design professionals from across the country.

The evening also featured an insightful panel discussion on “The Progressive Evolution of Future Offices”, exploring how human-centric design, intelligent furniture, lighting, technology, and hospitality integration will shape the next generation of workplaces.

Combining German Expertise with Local Capabilities
The new assembly line at T&D Design's factory represents a significant step forward in the partnership between the two companies, which has been growing successfully for more than ten years.
As part of this collaboration, T&D Design will assemble the se:kit swivel chair locally using components supplied through the partnership, while Sedus contributes its German engineering expertise, technical know-how and product design knowledge.
The initiative combines Sedus' high quality standards with local industrial capabilities, supporting the growing demand for ergonomic and innovative workplace solutions in the Egyptian market.

se:kit – Modular Design Meets Ergonomic Comfort
At the heart of this milestone is se:kit, the versatile swivel chair from Sedus that combines ergonomic comfort, contemporary design and maximum flexibility. Thanks to its modular concept, se:kit can be individually configured to meet different workplace requirements and personal preferences. From adjustable armrests and backrests to various seat options and mechanisms, the chair offers a wide range of possibilities for modern working environments – whether in individual offices, team workspaces or home offices.
A Partnership Built on Experience and Trust
With more than 20 years of experience in the Egyptian market and over 500 completed projects across various sectors, T&D Design is an established provider of workplace solutions.
For Sedus, the expansion of this partnership reflects the strategic importance of Egypt as a growing market.
Joelle Nader, Managing Director at Sedus in the Middle East, emphasised that the launch of local assembly is an important step in strengthening industrial cooperation and responding to the evolving needs of businesses and organisations in the region.
By combining German technical expertise with Egyptian manufacturing capabilities, both partners aim to support future growth while maintaining Sedus' established quality standards.
