ORGATEC 2026 Recap: Four days full of encounters, inspiration and new perspectives on the world of work

A stand concept that brings the impact of spaces to life

What does a space feel like when it is designed around people’s needs? This question was at the heart of Sedus’s trade fair presentation this year.

Instead of a traditional exhibition stand, visitors to Hall 6.1 were welcomed into an architecturally designed pavilion that translated the concept of “Spaces that Care” into a holistic spatial experience.

Harmoniously coordinated colours, carefully selected materials and considered lighting design, combined with Sedus furniture, created a coherent overall composition.

Yet it was about far more than just aesthetics. The pavilion demonstrated how our physical surroundings influence the way we feel, communicate and work. A visit to the trade fair thus became a journey of discovery through different working environments – and the guiding principle of “Wellbuilding” became a reality that could be experienced first-hand.

Five habitats, one office ecosystem

A central feature of the exhibition was the five habitats, which Sedus presented for the first time as a cohesive office ecosystem.

From an inviting reception area, an ergonomic workstation, a creative meeting environment, a secluded retreat or an open meeting zone: each habitat has its own character and responds to the different needs and activities of everyday working life.

Visitors could discover how different work settings can be combined to create an open, flexible and vibrant working environment.

After all, not everyone needs the same surroundings all the time. Some tasks call for concentration and quiet, while others call for interaction, movement or collaborative thinking. And sometimes, people simply need somewhere to step away and recharge.

The five habitats demonstrate how these different requirements can be accommodated within a single workspace, bringing together a variety of settings and giving people the freedom to choose where and how they work best.

New products that open up new possibilities

Alongside its holistic stand concept, ORGATEC 2026 provided the stage for Sedus to present a range of new products and further developments across its portfolio.

With the further-developed ergonomic swivel chair black dot next, the versatile multi-purpose chair se:meet and the third generation of the se:cube room-within-a-room solution, Sedus demonstrated how ergonomics, flexibility and functionality can go hand in hand with contemporary design.

The trade fair gave visitors the opportunity to experience these and other innovations up close and explore their potential applications for the first time. The new products will be officially available from early 2027.

Encounters, exchanges and new connections

Alongside architecture, design and product innovations, it was above all the personal encounters that characterised Sedus’ presence at ORGATEC 2026.

The pavilion provided a welcoming setting for in-depth discussions, new connections and the exchange of ideas. Architects, planners, retail partners, customers and other visitors came together to discuss the current challenges and opportunities shaping the world of work.

One thing became clear: the future of the office is about much more than furniture. How can workspaces become more flexible? How can companies support employee wellbeing? And how can we create environments where people enjoy coming together, can concentrate and have the opportunity to reach their full potential?

These conversations were an important part of what made the four days so valuable. After all, new ideas don't emerge from innovative products alone. They also grow when people come together, share experiences and discover new perspectives.

Thank you for four special days at the trade fair!

With “Spaces that Care”, Sedus made a clear statement at ORGATEC 2026 about the importance of putting people at the heart of workplace design.

The trade fair highlighted the close relationship between the quality of our surroundings, wellbeing and productivity, as well as the potential of viewing workspaces as more than just functional environments. The five habitats and the product solutions on display brought this philosophy to life, offering plenty of inspiration for the workplaces of tomorrow.

Above all, ORGATEC 2026 once again demonstrated the value of face-to-face encounters, fresh perspectives and a shared vision of the future.

A heartfelt thank you to all the visitors, partners and colleagues who helped bring the stand to life, shared their ideas and made these four days such a memorable experience.

We're taking home a wealth of inspiration, valuable conversations and fresh ideas from Cologne – and look forward to continuing to work together to create working environments that put people first.
