What is behind the motto “Spaces that Care”?
“Spaces that Care” expresses a simple but important idea: spaces influence how people feel, behave and work.
A good working environment should therefore do more than provide desks, chairs and meeting rooms. It should support concentration and exchange, offer orientation and flexibility, and respond to people’s changing needs throughout the working day.
For Sedus, a space that cares is a space that supports people while also enabling organisations to work effectively and adapt to change.
What does a space that cares actually do?
It creates the right conditions for different activities and different human needs.
At some moments, people need focus and protection from distraction. At others, they need interaction, movement, inspiration or a sense of belonging. A well-designed environment makes these transitions easier and more intuitive.
It does not prescribe one way of working. Instead, it provides choices and helps people find the setting that is right for the task, the situation and the individual.
What is behind the term “Wellbuilding”?
“Wellbuilding” describes a human-centred approach to designing working environments.
It combines the idea of wellbeing with the design of buildings, interiors and workplace solutions. The focus is not on individual comfort measures alone, but on the interaction between people, space, furniture, atmosphere and organisation.
“Building” should therefore be understood in two ways: as the physical environment in which work takes place, and as the process of creating better conditions for people and organisations.

Why “for Human Nature”?
Because human needs do not disappear when people enter the workplace.
People naturally seek both connection and retreat, stimulation and calm, movement and rest, familiarity and variety. Contemporary workplaces must acknowledge these apparent contrasts rather than designing for only one standardised form of work.
“For Human Nature” reflects Sedus’ ambition to create environments that are aligned more closely with how people actually think, feel, interact and perform.
Why did Sedus choose this theme now?
The role of the workplace is changing.
Today, offices must provide more than functional workstations. They must make collaboration worthwhile, support focused work and create an environment in which people feel welcome and connected. At the same time, organisations require spaces that remain flexible and can evolve with changing teams, activities and requirements.
With “Spaces that Care”, Sedus addresses these expectations through an integrated perspective on people, space and work.
What can visitors expect from Sedus at ORGATEC?
Visitors can expect new products, product extensions and spatial solutions that translate this thinking into tangible working environments.
Rather than presenting products in isolation, Sedus will demonstrate how different elements can interact to create meaningful spatial experiences. The aim is to offer inspiration and practical orientation for decision-makers, architects, planners and workplace specialists.
The complete concept is intended to be experienced in person at the Sedus stand in Hall 6.1.
What are you deliberately not revealing yet?
ORGATEC should remain a moment of discovery.
The motto provides the direction, but the full spatial concept, the individual experiences and the product innovations will only be revealed step by step. Visitors should not merely read about “Spaces that Care”; they should be able to enter, explore and experience them in Cologne.
From 27 to 30 October 2026, Sedus will show what “Wellbuilding for Human Nature” can mean for the workplaces of tomorrow.
