A Work Café at the heart of Kantar’s workplace

By relocating its French headquarters to the Coeur Défense skyscraper, Kantar is sending a clear signal for a new way of working: moving away from traditional office structures to embrace a more connected and communicative environment. At the centre of this transformation is a Work Café, designed not only as a place to relax but also as a vibrant social and functional hub for the entire workspace.

Completed in 2025, the new office spans a floor with approximately 110 workstations, promoting flexible working practices. The layout encourages collaboration while also providing dedicated areas for focused, individual work.

The project capitalises on its prime location in Paris La Défense, creating an attractive and easily accessible workplace that reflects the evolving needs of modern professionals.

Compelling visualisations & bespoke product solutions

The decision to choose Sedus’s furnishing solutions was based on several factors: ergonomic, high-quality products; a proven track record of successful collaboration on previous projects; and a strong long-standing customer relationship built on trust. The high-quality 3D visualisations and bespoke product solutions developed in close collaboration with the Sedus team were also particularly convincing:

We created 3D visualisations of the Work Café areas, spaces the client had not originally planned to involve us in, which clearly demonstrated the full range of our furnishing expertise.

“Hub” Work Café as a central meeting place

The design follows a clear and cohesive concept: a harmonious interplay of cream-beige and dark blue tones creates an atmosphere that is both elegant and calming. At the heart of the space is a “hub”-style Work Café, conceived as a central meeting place for interaction, exchange and informal working.

At the same time, dedicated quiet zones and collaborative areas have been thoughtfully integrated to optimally support a range of working modes, from focused, individual tasks to teamwork and creative collaboration.

The project presented several key challenges, including the move from the original site in Chambourcy to the Coeur Défense high-rise, as well as adapting to Kantar’s existing brand guidelines. Furthermore, the development of a Work Café as a central hub for social interaction and networking presented a particular planning challenge.

The overarching objective of the new interior concept was to establish flexible working models, bring teams together around a shared café and workspace area, and at the same time create a balanced mix of quiet zones and collaborative spaces.

Sedus has furnished the following areas with tailored office solutions:

Single workstation

Individual workstations form the basis for productive, ergonomic work. The electrically height-adjustable se:lab e-desk, combined with the quarterback 2 swivel chair, creates flexible workstations that meet individual needs. These are complemented by easy screen silent for visual and acoustic screening, as well as integrated storage solutions such as grand slam, which promote order and structure. A strong emphasis was placed on ergonomics and comfort – key criteria in the selection of the furniture.

Lounge & reception areas

Particular attention has also been given to comfort in the lounge and reception areas, ensuring they exude a high-quality and inviting atmosphere. The se:living sofa and matching side tables, along with se:dot stools, create comfortable seating arrangements that appeal equally to both guests and employees. These areas combine a sense of prestige with a welcoming atmosphere and invite people to linger.
